I love graphic design too!
It is part of what got me started with photography.

I like it because of the ability to create and change anything you want - - and the ability to make mistakes as you go.

It is the process of creating something from nothing, literally starting with a blank canvas and using your imagination to make it evolve.

For all you other Hipsters out there...you should consider trying your hand at some graphic design...
It's a great way to show that you have a interest in your business other than just photography. By doing special projects on the side that are unique and interesting you are adding a value to your business.
For your clients, that's exactly what they want.

Architecture Photography in Washington State

Often times as a photographers we are called upon to "make it happen". No matter what.
We encounter all types of problems. Rain, snow, sun, or overcast. Something in the way. We can't get high enough, we can't get far enough back. We can't make someone smile or we can't get the tree out of the way!
It's always something.
I was glad to tell this client that I would make it happen.
Things turned out great, even through the light rain and overcast skies.

How do you make someone look frustrated?
Tell them everything they are doing is wrong. It worked!

Well, it's been a crazy few months since the Wedding Season ended. It's also been good thinking about Hallmark Institute of Photography and all the things I was doing this time last year.

It was great shooting summer weddings here in Bellingham, WA. It's been great shooting in the Fall and Winter as well!

Just on December 1st we had our FIRST snowfall of the winter. I got the most romantic shot with Mike and Nancy at their Wedding at the Beautiful Semiahmoo Resort.

I've also been busy shooting some Northwest commercial photography. Food and drinks, as well as products, architecture and some interior design stuff. All very exciting. Some of this is for Northwest Business Monthly and others are for the Best Western Lakeway Inn. I'd love to show it all, but here are a few!

Also, lots of portraits. Location Portraits. Now, here is some fun!
One thing to note...these were all done within either 3-5 shots. I use portable speed lights. They only took about 10 minutes! Talk about pressure.

Spring Break come back!

Ah, Spring Break was a great time to relax and have some time off.

I got a chance to meet with a new wedding client for September and also figured out some potential marketing techniques for this summer and into next years OneBloom Photography season.

I can't wait to get my Phase 4 Portfolio for the Hallmark Institute of Photography finished so I can get on with the rest of my photographic career! I have a lot of ideas so far and it's going to be a challenge I'm sure!

I did get a couple chances to shoot a few images over break! Here they are:

Boston Airport:

Wall of mirrors, I couldn't resist the colorful shoes being sold across the way!

Bellingham, WA:

I did some H.D.R. images here. Each image was a 5 exposure +/- 1 stop range with D200 using a Grad. ND Cokin Filter, Polarizer @ 18mm.

I also just photographed Dan and Karen's Wedding on March 31st! Congratulations to them both! Everything went great and it was a pleasure to be there! :-)
What a fun couple! I will be adding more pictures from this to my site soon.
