Studio Lighting with On-Camera Flash
Sunday, September 2, 2007
Here's an image from yesterday's wedding. I love the light - achieved with on-camera flash. The groom wasn't very excited about pictures, we only had a few minutes so I think it falls apart with the pose and composition. But I still can't stop looking at that light!Labels: flash, KBI, on-camera, studio light

New KBI Website
Monday, May 21, 2007
For current students, the year is wrapping up... we only have a day or so until we hand in all of our hard work. On one hand, it's exhausting. But on the other, it the most exciting thing I've ever experienced -- especially to see everyone's amazing images together. It's quite an astonishing feat to see the quality of work compared to our previous level just 9 months ago!
Well, now I'm finished and am proud to present to you the product of my blood, sweat, and tears during the last few months at Hallmark: my new website!

Portrait of a teenager (my beloved brother). I know I'm "breaking the rules" about not having light in the eyes, but I think the gesture and mood are still strong without it. Love it or hate it, let me know. Thanks!Labels: HIPster Photo Contest #1, KBI, teenager

Steel and Glass
Tuesday, March 27, 2007
Here is my first attempt at architectural photography, well more like my 10th or 11th. After a week of failing at it - I found it rather difficult to balance artifical and natural light on such a large scale (not to mention the color tempature of all those lights!), but finally I captured something I'm proud of. And now I can't wait to do it again!Labels: Architecture, KBI
