I shot this model the other day for my wife's hair portfolio. I only shot for about 5 min and this was my favorite shot. I will be shooting her again in the next month for a more serious shoot.

JMP | Engagement Session
Friday, September 26, 2008
Well it has been forever and a year since I have posted anything on Hipsters!!
I shot this session about three weeks ago when I was in California photographing a wedding. I would say this is probably my favorite session this year. Maybe because it is not the Utah desert, or it could be the fact that they are really good friends of mine. Either way I hope you enjoy them as well.

Ok so my wife (Kaylin) is going to school to be a stylist, last night she came home after one of the makeup artists did some work on her for one of their assignments. When she got home the camera came out and I shot these in about 5 min before we had to leave.

Jason McGrew Photography | Bridals
Monday, July 14, 2008
I shot these bridals about 3 weeks ago or so. Danielle is having her wedding in La Jolla, California. In fact the amazingly talented chazcruz.com is actually shooting the wedding for me. It is great to have amazing photographers that are able to network with and work with. If you are not networking you need to start. If I never new Chaz then i never would have been able to have Danielle as an amazing client.
Danielle wanted something different so that is what I gave her. I am constantly scouting out new places to shoot that will provide a unique background and atmosphere.
So here they are I loved this session. Make sure to visit the BLOG to see more.

Jason McGrew Photography | Bridals
Sunday, July 13, 2008
wow... things sure are busy... I photographed Katrina's bridals this week and then her wedding yesterday. It was awesome. Her dress was from the famous designer Monique Lhuillier They will set you back 10-20k!! She looked amazing in her dress. These were kinda last minute so the place that we were going to use fell through. We ended up shooting in a backyard. I was a little skeptical about shooting in a backyard, but it has a few waterfalls and wonderful landscaping.
Anyways my point is you don't have to have an beyond amazing place to have wonderful images. I really enjoyed her session as it allowed me to be more creative. But I suppose you can be the judge.

Jason McGrew Photography | Engagements.
Thursday, February 7, 2008
I love to photograph engagement session. In fact it is probably my favorite session to photograph. Why you may ask? Because I have taken "Dicks" advice and done my homework. Once again you may ask yourself "how"? One of the many benefits of having me as your photographer is that you receive amazing customer service not just amazing images!
One way that this is accomplished with weddings is I take all my Brides and Grooms out to dinner. Before I decided to do this I asked a lot of people what they thought about it and it was a good mix for both sides.. I told myself what do I have to loose besides about $100. I felt that it was worth it. I have since taken almost all my wedding clients to a nice dinner. When at dinner I have them fill out a a form with questions about them and who they are as a couple! Everyone loves it! We just chat about whatever comes up and of course there wedding day plans, but most importantly we drill them with questions about who they are. Then they do the same to us. Going to dinner is one of the best parts about shooting weddings.
I Have been able to connect with couples that in the original consult i thought it would be super hard. After going to dinner we no longer are their photographer we become their friends. And Friends talk to others about their friends!
I just thought that I would share how I connect with my couples before showing you my favorite session this year. These images are simple and all about them. In these images I see the couple not images of the couple. I love my job!
Enjoy!

Bridal Images!
Wednesday, November 28, 2007
I photographed this couple's engagement session a few weeks back and just shot their bridal session. Usually the groom won't come along but it is becoming more and more popular for them to do so. We drove clear out into the stick to get to some sweet spots. This couple is is having a rock'n wedding and I can't wait for it.
