Ray Flash Photo Contest
Monday, March 23, 2009

It has been a while since I last posted some work in here, but here's one of my latest photos. I submitted this one for the OMP and Expoimaging Ray Flash Photo Contest. I decided to use a 'non-traditional' ringflash off camera, and a softbox as background. Shot with Mamiya with Aptus 22, 120 macro @ f9.5

Family Portrait
Monday, December 29, 2008
These last days of the year I've busy doing some family portraits. These are from an old high-school friend of mine, Paulino, his wife Barbara and son Paulo. He's a writer and currently studing Psycology. Always been a huge fan of music and owns quite an impressive collection of vinyls, so I suggested we use some of his favorites for the background.

My best wishes to all the HIPsters for 2009, may this coming year be full of success and health.

Milkman in the News
Monday, October 20, 2008

Last saturday Kanye West performed in Monterrey, Mexico. Opening his act was Oscar Botello aka "Milkman", of whom I did some portraits for promotion about 2 months ago. They used one of the pictures to publish the note mainpage of the Showbiz section of the biggest newspaper of the country. If you want to check out some of his music visit Milkman's Myspace

Tattoo Time
Sunday, October 5, 2008

This is Alex, I've know him for about 8 years. For his portrait I wanted to get most of his tattoos in one image, without being a full body photo. So I came up with the idea to make the background with the ones from his calf, this is the result.

Studio Time
Thursday, August 21, 2008
I had been a while since I was in the studio, been mostly doing on location work. So I decided to get some friends in the studio to practice some of that high-key-sort-of-lighting. This is Deyanira, she cuts her own hair and loves to rock. Pretty happy with the results, these are my fav shots.

Olympic Swimmer
Friday, July 18, 2008
Today I was assigned to get some photos of Imelda Martinez, a local athlete that will be taking part on Mexico's Women Swimming Team, on the upcoming Olympic games in Beijing. She will be competing on the 10km Marathon. She's not only a talented athlete, but she also just finished her Masters Degree and works in one of the most prestigious universities of Latin America. She trains swimming 16 kms a day, that's almost 10 miles! Good luck to her!
